Warship island is progressing to public presentation next spring

"Hashima island" of Nagasaki City in the name of a "warship island" was opened to the press on November 14. Since the coal mine shaft was closed in 1974 and this island became uninhabited, landing has been forbidden. Nagasaki City started maintenance in June, for sightseeing, and it will aim general public presentation at spring next year. "Hashima island" are 480m of north and south, and 160m of east and west. It is appearing on the sea about 19km southwest from the Nagasaki harbor. Mitsubishi will start coal-mining in 1890. It was the "marine city" where the ferro-concrete multistory apartment building made the first in Japan in 1916 is built, and about 5200 persons live in the golden age. The another name of the warship island was attached from the figure associated with a battleship.
